Maps and Response Curves
The Co.S.A. controller is equipped with a flexible mapping system capable of storing up to 8 different configurations (maps from 0 to 7).
- Map 0: Cannot be configured. It is a linear straight line (from 0 to 100% output proportionally). IniForce 30% and Response 2 correspond to this map.
- Maps 1 to 7: Fully configurable by the user based on their driving needs, track, and slot car type.
Operating Logic
The trigger response curve is mathematically modeled using a segmented curve divided into 4 sectors along the finger travel.
On the map editing screen, you set 4 values (e.g., 045 065 080 090). Each value represents the "slope" or power increment rate in that quarter of the trigger travel. The controller calculates the output in real time based on these points.
The increment rate for each sector goes from 1 to 255, allowing you to set and create practically any type of curve desired based on your driving characteristics.
The fifth value on the display (e.g., TOTAL: 070%) indicates the total output accumulated just before exceeding the Ths MAX value (end of travel / maximum).

The Effect of the SENSITIVITY Potentiometer (Sens)
The Sens (Sensitivity) potentiometer allows you to adjust the car's initial burst on the fly (the first touch of the throttle), altering the base IniForce value set in the menu.
- Sens at center (click): The controller delivers exactly the base IniForce value (e.g., 30%).
- Sens towards " - ": Subtracts up to -20% from the IniForce value, softening the power delivery onset. Useful if the car is too twitchy or fishtails on the first acceleration.
- Sens towards " + ": Adds up to +20% to the IniForce value, making the initial burst stronger and more immediate. Ideal to counter the strong magnetic effect of motors on high-grip tracks.
This adjustment pairs perfectly with the map: the Sens manages the very first fraction of throttle to move the car from a standstill or tight corners, after which the delivery will faithfully follow the set curve.
The Effect of the TUNING Potentiometer
Saved maps act as starting configurations. The true strength of the controller lies in the ability to vary the selected curve on the fly, by turning the TUNING potentiometer (the blue/central one or dedicated one).
- Tuning at center (click): Delivery exactly follows the stored map (100%).
- Tuning towards " - ": Softens the entire curve response, lowering it. If turned all the way down on a linear curve, the car will reach a maximum of 80% power for most of the trigger, delivering 100% only at the end of travel.
- Tuning towards " + ": Makes the response much more aggressive, raising the entire curve. Delivery will reach 100% well before the end of the mechanical travel, making the car extremely reactive.
This approach offers enormous flexibility in case of motor drop-off, tire wear, or grip changes on the track, without ever having to change the map or reprogram the controller.
Practical Usage Examples (Basic Setup)
Here are some recommended configurations to start getting familiar.
1. Cars with Low Grip / Low Magnetic Effect
The goal is to limit initial slip.
- Recommended map:
50 - 70 - 90 - 110(very flat delivery at first, gives everything from halfway on) - Brake: 100%
- Sens (Sensitivity): 30% (click position) or slightly less
- Tune: 0 (click) or slightly negative to flatten further
- Response: 1 (Medium) Note: This configuration maximizes drivability and consistency, not necessarily the "best lap".
2. Cars with High Grip / Highly Magnetic
The strong magnetic power of the motor must be countered with brilliant initial delivery.
- Recommended map:
70 - 80 - 95 - 110 - Brake: 100%
- Sens: 30% (click) or +10%
- Tune: 0 (click) or slightly positive
- Response: 1 or 2 (for even more ready driving)
3. "Car on Finger" Setup
For expert drivers wanting braking at the limit and total control mid-corner.
- Recommended map:
200 - 80 - 60 - 130(starts very strong, but "sits" mid-trigger to give high control at half speed) - Brake: 100% or Anticipated Brake (e.g. 150%) combined with DragBrake at 2.
- Sens: between 15% and 40%
- Tune: 0 (click) or negative
- Response: 1 In this setup, the car starts braking from half trigger, but the effective braking is dictated by the finger release speed (thanks to the Drag Brake).
